Which Clarke Part You Actually Need
Clarke scrubbers use four different wear parts, and the most common ordering error is buying the wrong one for the deck. Before you search by part number, work out which of these you are replacing.
A disc brush has bristles and scrubs the floor directly. A pad driver is a flat plate that holds a disposable pad — it has no bristles. A drive flange is the locking plate between the hub and the brush. A center lock holds the assembly on the shaft.
| Part | What it does | Clarke models we cover | Not interchangeable with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disc Brush | Bristles contact the floor and scrub | 2500 | Pad driver, flange |
| Pad Driver | Holds a disposable floor pad, no bristles | 2500 | Disc brush |
| Drive Flange | Locks the brush onto the machine hub | 4000, plus one universal pattern | Center lock |
| Center Lock | Holds the brush and pad assembly on the shaft | Two patterns | Drive flange |
| Roller Brush | Cylindrical brush for roller decks | 30-380 (30x380x86 mm) | Any disc-deck part |
Clarke 2500: Disc Brush and Pad Driver
The 2500 family uses a disc deck, which means it takes either a disc brush or a pad driver depending on what the operator is doing. Both mount on the same hub, so the two are often confused when ordering.
Use a disc brush for everyday scrubbing where the bristles need to reach into grout lines and floor texture. Use a pad driver with a disposable pad for finish work, light maintenance and floors where bristles would be too aggressive.
- Clarke 2500 disc brush — replacement scrub brush, bristle compound matched to the deck.
- Clarke 2500 pad driver — replacement needle holder that takes a standard disposable pad.
- Both parts fit the same 2500 hub, so confirm which one the deck actually carries before ordering.
- If the existing part has bristles, it is a disc brush. If it is a flat plate with a pad stuck to it, it is a pad driver.
Clarke 4000: Drive Flange and Center Lock
On the 4000 family the wear part that fails first is usually the flange or the center lock, not the brush. When either rounds off, the brush slips under load and the machine stops cleaning evenly even though the bristles are still good.
This is worth checking before you buy a new brush — replacing a worn flange is cheaper and often solves the problem outright.
- Clarke 4000 drive flange — replacement locking plate, matched to the deck bore.
- Clarke center lock — two patterns in the range, including a No.436 variant.
- A brush that spins freely when the machine meets resistance points at the flange or lock, not the bristles.
- Check whether the clip pins are rounded, the thread stripped, or the plate bent before ordering.
Clarke 30-380 Roller Brush
The 30-380 roller brush measures 30 x 380 x 86 mm and is a cylindrical brush for roller decks rather than a disc. Roller brushes wear differently from disc brushes: the bristles flatten along one side first, so the floor cleans well on one pass and leaves strips on the next.
- Size: 30 x 380 x 86 mm (diameter x length x bore).
- Check the end-fitting pattern as well as the length — a brush that is correct in length but wrong at the end will not track.
- Replace the end cap at the same time if it is worn; a loose cap makes a new brush run badly.
How to Confirm Fitment Before Ordering
Clarke decks use several bore and lock patterns across the range, so model plus part number is the only reliable match. Measurements come second.
- Send the machine model (2500, 4000, 30-380) and the OEM part number printed on the old part.
- If the number is worn off, measure the outer diameter, the centre bore and the lock style — pin clip, screw thread or snap lock.
- Photograph the old part next to a ruler; this resolves most ambiguity in one exchange.
- We confirm fitment before quoting rather than shipping and hoping.
Factory-Direct vs Dealer Pricing
Clarke parts are sold through a dealer network, and the consumables carry a dealer margin on top of the manufacturing cost. Buying direct from the factory removes that layer — but only if the part actually fits, which is why fitment confirmation matters more than the price difference.
- Consumables (brushes, pad drivers, squeegee rubber) are the items that wear and need replacing most often, so the margin compounds over a year.
- Structural parts (flanges, center locks) fail less often but strand the machine when they do — keep a spare.
- We do not publish a single list price because the range spans very different part types; send the part number for a quote.
Common Questions
The questions that come up most often when ordering Clarke-compatible parts.
- Are these genuine Clarke parts? — No. They are compatible replacement parts manufactured by Aikerui, dimensioned to fit the same decks. They are not made or endorsed by Clarke.
- What is the difference between a pad driver and a disc brush? — A disc brush has bristles and scrubs directly. A pad driver is a flat plate that holds a disposable pad. The 2500 family uses both and they are not interchangeable.
- Why does my brush keep slipping? — Usually a worn flange or center lock rather than a worn brush. Check the clip pins and thread before buying a new brush.
- Can you match a Clarke part from a photo? — A photo helps, but three measurements decide it: outer diameter, centre bore and lock style.
