The constraint
A distribution centre was cleaning aisles with manual mops and a single-disc machine. The operation ran across two shifts, and mopping left the floor wet long enough to be a slip risk during picking hours. The site also had a 1.8 m doorway between two halls, which ruled out several wider machines that had been quoted.
What we specified
Two ride-on scrubbers with a 32-inch deck, sized so that one unit covers a full shift without a refill stop and both can pass the 1.8 m doorway. Deck width was deliberately kept below the maximum available: a wider machine would have cut pass count on the open floor but could not reach two of the aisles.
What changed
Cleaning moved from a two-shift manual routine to a single scheduled pass per shift, with the floor dry behind the machine so picking continued without a wet-floor shutdown.
