A centre lock — also sold as a positioner or centring device — locates the brush or pad driver on the machine hub so it runs concentric with the drive. When the centre lock wears or breaks, the brush sits off-centre: it wobbles, the deck goes out of balance, and the machine leaves an uneven pattern instead of a clean strip.
We manufacture centre locks and positioners matched to the bore and lug patterns of the common scrubber decks. Because they are a small, low-cost part that prevents a much larger problem, they are worth replacing whenever the brush is changed. Send your machine model and OEM part number and we will confirm the pattern.
It centres the brush or pad driver on the drive hub so the brush rotates concentrically. Without it the brush sits off-centre, wobbles, and the machine cleans unevenly.
The brush sits loose on the hub, the machine vibrates, or the cleaning pattern shows a wobble. On some decks the positioner physically breaks and the brush drops.
No. The flange is the locking plate that clamps the brush down; the centre lock positions it concentrically. Many decks use both, and they wear at different rates.
