When Scrubbing Isn't Enough — You Need Stripping
Over time, floor finish builds up in layers — yellowing, trapping dirt, and making floors look dull even after scrubbing. Floor stripping removes all old finish down to bare flooring so a fresh coat can be applied. This requires different equipment than daily scrubbing — higher speed, more aggressive pads, and specialized chemicals.
Stripping Equipment You Need
Floor stripper machine (175-350 RPM, higher speed than scrubbers), stripping pads (black or high-productivity brown), stripping chemical solution, wet/dry vacuum, and mop for solution application. A standard floor scrubber at low speed can also strip with the right pads and chemicals.
Stripping Pads: Black vs Brown vs Specialty
Black pad: Most aggressive. Removes heavy buildup and old finish quickly. Brown pad: Medium aggression. Good for routine stripping without damaging the floor. White pad: Light scrubbing only — not for stripping.
