A floor scrubber disc brush (also called a rotary brush) is the round brush that spins on your scrubber's brush deck to agitate dirt and cleaning solution against the floor. It is the most common brush type, used on walk-behind and ride-on scrubbers across all major brands.

Disc Brush Materials — Which One Do You Need?
The bristle material determines how aggressively the brush cleans and how safe it is for your floor.
- Nylon: The standard choice. Flexible and durable. Safe for tile, concrete, and epoxy. Good for daily general cleaning. Best value for most facilities.
- Polypropylene (PPL): Stiffer than nylon. More scrubbing power for heavy grease, oil, and industrial grime. Can scratch softer floors — use on concrete only.
- Abrasive (Silicon Carbide / Tynex): Most aggressive. Used for stripping old floor finish, deep cleaning heavily soiled concrete, and preparing floors for recoating. Not for daily use.
- Steel Wire: For heavy debris on industrial concrete. Will damage most finished floors.
- Natural Fiber: Softest. For polishing sensitive floors like wood, marble, linoleum.
How to Choose the Right Disc Brush Size
The brush diameter must match your scrubber's brush deck size. Common sizes:
- 13–15 inch: Small walk-behind scrubbers, single-disc machines
- 16–20 inch: Standard walk-behind scrubbers (most common)
- 21–28 inch: Mid-size walk-behind and small ride-on scrubbers
- 30–36 inch: Ride-on scrubbers
- 40–50 inch: Large industrial ride-on scrubbers
- Check your machine's manual or measure the brush deck opening to confirm the diameter.
Compatibility: Which Brands Use Which Disc Brushes
Disc brushes connect to the machine via a clutch plate or pad driver. Different brands use different lug patterns:
- NP-9200 (2-Lug): Tennant T5/T7/T300/T500, Viper AS510B/AS5160/LS160, Nilfisk SC500/SC600, Comac, IPC, most Chinese OEM machines.
- 3-Lug Center Lock: Advance, older Nilfisk, older Viper models.
- 4-Lug / Magnetic: Karcher BD50/BD53/B90, Hako B45/B70/B75R, some Gaomei models.
