• NP-9200 Universal (2-Lug): The most common standard. Two raised nubs lock into matching slots on the brush. Fits Tennant T5/T7/T300, Viper, Nilfisk, Comac, and most Chinese OEM machines. The NP-9200 center hole is 5/8 inch (16mm).
• 3-Lug Center Lock: Common on Advance, Nilfisk, and older Viper models. Three lugs with a center screw that secures the brush. More secure against slippage under heavy scrubbing pressure. Requires matching 3-lug brush.
• 4-Lug Magnetic or Mechanical Buckle: Used on some European brands like Kärcher and Hako. Some use magnets to hold the brush; others use mechanical clips. Quick-change design but parts are harder to source outside Europe.

How to Identify Your Machine's Clutch Plate Type

Don't guess — a 2-minute check saves 2 days of waiting for the wrong part. Here's the process:

• Step 1 — Remove the brush. Look at the metal plate exposed on the motor shaft.
• Step 2 — Count the lugs (raised nubs). 2 lugs = NP-9200. 3 lugs = center lock. 4 lugs = European standard.
• Step 3 — Measure the center hole diameter. NP-9200 is 5/8 inch (16mm). Others vary.
• Step 4 — Check for additional features. Center screw? Magnets? Clips? These tell you the exact type.

• Rust or corrosion: Surface rust on the lugs prevents the brush from seating properly. Light rust can be wire-brushed; heavy rust means replacement.
